Q: I have a 2-1/2 HP, 450 rpm, serial no. 19582
hit-and-miss Fuller & Johnson gas engine with battery and coil
ignition. It has 22-inch diameter flywheels and a 4-inch piston. I
think this is an early engine, as the flywheels have 3/4-inch
clearance under them when the engine is sitting with no skids under
it. Could you tell me what year the engine was made and what model
it is? Lonnie Root, P.O. Box 156, Atkinson, Neb. 68713

A: Your engine is almost certainly a Model N,
built in 1915.
