This is my little red tractor that I found in Mannington, West
Virginia. The chassis is a Speedex, made in the 1940s. Some time
ago, I restored an LB International engine with an extra capacity
hopper that I knew belonged on some kind of a tractor, so I started
looking for an old garden tractor. After much scraping and grinding
of rust, scale, and grease, I got it in shape to paint and it
turned out to be a nice tractor.
I mounted a hydraulic hoist on the rear so I could move my other
engines and equipment.
The Speedex Tractor Company is still in business in Ravenna,
Ohio. I wrote to them and they sent me the history of the
company.
