The search is on-again-for beautifully restored antique tractors
in mint condition, suitable for the 1992 Classic Tractors Calendar
being planned by Du Pont Agricultural Products, which markets
‘Classic’ her bicide for soybeans.
Each calendar features 14 farm tractors meticulously restored to
original condition by collectors, most of them farmers.
To date, the 28 tractors to grace the 1990 and 1991 calendars
represent 14 various makes, from 12 different states.
‘Inquiries about the Classic Tractors Calendar have come
from all over-England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and
other countries as well,’ says John Harvey, DuPont
communications manager, who directs the project.
Again this year, the large, colorful calendar will be printed
with soybean oil ink. A professional videotape featuring the owners
and their tractors, and a large wall poster picturing all 14
tractors are planned again for 1992.
To qualify as an official candidate for Du Pont’s Classic
Tractors Calendar, the tractor must be 50 years old or older, and
in showroom ready condition. Owners should submit a color snapshot
of the tractor, with information, to: John Harvey, Classic
Tractors, Du Pont Company, Walker’s Mill 5-170, Wilmington, DE
19880.
