R. B. HAYS of Clever, Missouri, passed away in October of 1979
after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and heavy equipment
operator and he had a great knack for restoring gas engines back to
their original condition.

R. B. had served two years as president of Branch 16 of the
Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association. He was an active
member in Branch 16 and the Ozark Steam Engine Association at the
time of his death. R. B. always had time to help a fellow member or
friend. He never met a stranger. He will be sadly missed by his
family and many friends.
