Freeman L. Holden, Box 97, RR 1, Ellsworth, Wisconsin 54011, had
to take the entire engine apart during the restoration of the 10-20
McCormick Deering shown above. The valve lifters had to be driven
out with a heavy hammer; they were frozen in place.
The 1919 Model H Rumely Oil Pull below was purchased in the
spring of 1989 by Terry L. Grice, R.R. 1, Box 54, Geneva, Iowa
50633. The tractor was put in running order by Leo Brubaker of
Prairie City, Iowa. Grice finished the tractor by building the
canopy, putting rubber tread on the wheels, stripping it to the
frame and straightening, cleaning and painting it.
Fred Steinkamp, 1622 N. 15th St., Beatrice, NE 68310, and son
Kent restored these Dempsters-a 1?, a 2?, and a 6 HP. The engines
were manufactured in Beatrice in the early 1900’s; the factory
is still producing farm equipment.
Three McCormick M’s: a 1930 1? HP, a 1918 3 HP, and a 1923 6
