I have collected Maytag engines for a long time, and for the
last few years I have been using them for other things besides
washing machines.

This outboard motor is my latest project. I used the cylinders,
flywheel, magneto and crankcase of a Maytag Model 72A Twin, and
parts from three other old outboard motors. Along with these, I
used several pieces of scrap from my junk pile. The only items I
bought were three bolts to fasten the gas tank, and a short piece
of copper pipe for the gas line.

I like to share my experiences with fellow readers of the
magazine, as I always enjoy reading of other gas engine
enthusiasts’ projects.
