My father, Roy Cecil Dodson, passed away back in September 1998.
We both enjoyed his subscription to GEM! We got into collecting
engines when I was a teenager some 18 years ago. Our first engine
was a 2? HP Stover. We were hooked from that moment on! We enjoyed
going to engine shows every year. At first it was just us, father
and son, but for the last eight years, it has been father, son, and
grandsons. Our collection has grown to over 20 engines.
We will miss my father at the shows this year. This is a picture
of him with his 1908 Economy hit and miss engine on display at the
Colfax Free Fair.
