Dick Brown, 175 Sonnet Lane, Gilbertsville, Kentucky 42044-8840
sent the photo at right of his 1912 Fairbanks Morse 1 HP Jack
Junior. He says, ‘This engine was basically a parts engine when
I bought it from my good friend and fellow collector Marvin Scott
from Indiana. Thanks to the good folks who advertise in GEM, and
also to Charlie Simpson and his Duplicast Metal Works at
Indianapolis, we’re done. I have 30 engines, several FM Type H.
I have the 1, 2, 4, and 6 HP Model H’s, as well as a 2 HP Type
T vertical and a 1 HP headless Z. My soon-to-be son-in-law Ricky
Stevenson has three Fairbanks Morse Z engines, all the plug
oscillator style, including a 6 HP, 3 HP, and a 2 HP that was made
only one year. Between us both we have several Fairbanks
engines.’
