In the January, 1986 issue of GEM, an article about K. E.
Dokter’s 1913 Ellis engine appeared. The response that Mr.
Dokter has received from that article indicates a desire on the
part of Ellis owners for a directory which would include
owners’ names and addresses, engine horsepower and serial
numbers. This directory would include both upright and horizontal
engines.
Owners of Ellis engines are urged to send information about
their engines to: K. E. Dokter, Dok’s Engine Shop, P.O. Box
292, Weeping Water, Nebraska 68463 (phone 402-267-5151). Be sure to
give complete information-engine horsepower and serial number, your
name and address. Mr. Dokter would also like suggestions for
helpful information that the directory could include.
If there is sufficient interest, perhaps an Ellis engine club
will be formed at a future date.
