I do not know whether the owner of this lawmower shop was
advertising that the machine in the picture was for sale, or if he
intended to identify it for those who might not know what it
was.
We can only presume that identity was his motive. Yes, it is
indeed a lawn-mower, just like the sign says!
It was humorous to see it sitting there week after week with the
sign proclaiming its identity to the world, like an exhibit in a
museum.
