Chris Reed is looking for information on this piece of equipment, found near a road by Nome Creek in Alaska.
I recently found these near the road leading to Prindle Mountain Campground near Nome Creek (up Steese Highway) in Alaska. I am curious as to what it looked like together, what it was used for and, most of all, how they got it way back in the hills so many years ago. Wasn’t sure if it was part of the bucket dredge that ran some time ago or a different operation since it was quite a ways from the tailings left by the dredge. I didn’t notice until I got home and reviewed the pictures that there’s a plate on the boiler face. Maybe next year I’ll be able to get a closer photo.
