ELZA M. MECKLEY, SR., 74, of Paris, Missouri died unexpectedly
on October 31. He was on his way South for the winter. He was a
member and past director of the Mark Twain Old Threshers
Association and showed gas engines and antique tractors at many
shows during the summer. He was retired from active farming.

SWAN ‘HENRY’ SWANSON, 74, of 1515 15th Avenue, S.E.,
Aberdeen, South Dakota passed away October 10, 1978. S. Henry
Swanson was one of the founders of the James Valley Pioneer
Threshermen’s Association. Members of the group will miss his
interest and assistance with the threshing shows.

Henry was well-known at Dalton, Minnesota and also New Rockford,
North Dakota shows where he had operated steam engines for a number
of years.
