BENNIE LATHAM of Willard, Missouri passed away September 30, 1981 after a long illness. He was retired from Mid-America Dairy and was an honorary member of the Missouri Sheriffs Association. Bennie was an active member of Branch 16 of the Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association. At the time of his death, he enjoyed collecting gas engines. He never had one for sale outside of the club. He would often say while listening to the engines run that they were music to his ears. He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends.

CLAUDE SCHOLMA of 9853 56th Avenue, Allendale, Michigan, passed away October 13,1981 at the age of 74. Mr. Scholma was a farmer all of his life and for the last ten years before retirement worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a charter member of the Riverbend Steam and Gas Association which he, along with six others, organized in 1970. The annual show has been held for the last several years on the Scholma farm. It was his wish that this practice continue for as long as possible in the future.
He was the owner of many tractors and engines, along with a grain separator, clover huller, flour mill, etc. He always enjoyed rebuilding antique farm machinery-one of which was a joint project with his wife, Sena, in two matched and beautifully restored Huber gasoline tractors.
He was always cheerful and willing to help others and he will be sadly missed by family and friends.
