DAVE KREITLER passed away October 14, 1982 while enjoying one of his two favorite hobbies-fishing. His other favorite hobby was obtaining and restoring old iron.
He was 61 years old at the time of his death. Several years ago he retired and spent many hours with his hobbies. He will really be missed by his fellow iron collectors as they always ran to him for help when a problem arose.
As a note of interest, his last restoration was a 1917 Titan which was pictured on page 11 of the September-October issue of GEM.

WILLIAM H. ‘BILL’ MAGERS, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away September 18, 1982 at the age of 62. Bill had been secretary of the Mammoth Cave Antique Gas Engine and Tractor Association since its beginning in 1976. In addition he enjoyed many civic activities in his community. He recently retired after 40 years of service with the Office of Economic Security of the State of Kentucky. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him.

KATHERINE M. HAYES of Muscatine, Iowa passed away May 20, 1982 of a sudden heart attack at the age of 89.
She grew up on a farm and she and her dad farmed most of their lives- she shocked oats and barley as a youngster and drove the old Fordson tractor on the binder and disc when we were on the farm.
So I guess it was only natural that she was a fan after she saw that first steam show in Davenport in ’55.
She never missed the shows at LaMott, Denmark, DeWitt, Mt. Pleasant, and Geneseo. Was a member of the Antique Engine and Tractor Association of Geneseo.
She enjoyed meeting people at the shows and for a number of years took her mother’s churn that I powered with the old Delco.
Don’t think that I will ever go to a show without remembering Mom heading down to the flea market or handicraft displays to ‘see what’s different this year.’
