GOOLD, SHAPLEY & MUIR.  This Goold, Shapley & Muir
22 HP double water hopper, side shaft engine in near-mint condition
was discovered near Lake Simco in Ontario, Canada, in July 1986 in
the collection of Doug Ferris. The engine was bargained for and
brought to Michigan by Orville Babcock, 7490 Bedford Rd., Hastings,
MI, and exhibited at engine shows at Charlton Park, Hastings,
Allendale, Mason, and Greenfield Village (all in Michigan) and at
Portland, Indiana.

Pictured above are young engine enthusiasts David Harman, age
16, with a 6 HP IHC Mogul engine, and his cousin Matthew Harman,
age 3, with a 1 HP IHC Mogul Junior. The engines belong to Samuel
A. Harman, 2035 Blacks Schoolhouse Road, Taneytown, Maryland
21787.
