President Reagan is shown with a brand new Ford diesel tractor
given to him last year by friends to replace an older tractor for
use on the Reagan ranch near Santa Barbara, California. A birthday
present, the tractor is used for hauling wood, has a plow
attachment and comes in very handy in the mountainous terrain.
President Reagan operates the tractor on some occasions; usually a
ranch hand drives it. The picture was received from the White House
Photo Office and was taken by Pete Souza. We thought you’d like
to see the President’s tractor-a future antique!
