IN MEMORIAM

ERNEST R. SCHMIDT, 77, died suddenly July 22, 1992 at his home
in Fremont, Nebraska. He was well known in eastern Neb., S. D., and
western Ia. for his collection of gas engines and tractors. He had
a great ability to repair and make parts for his engines and did
beautiful painting and restoring. His favorite engine was his
little 3/4 HP inverted Pierce engine.
Ernie’s 1920 Huber tractor was used as a memorial to him at
Papio Valley Threshing Day in Bennington, Neb. on July 26,1992.
Ernie had attended this show since its beginning. He will be missed
