HERMAN SCHLICHTING, of rural Lamar, MO passed
away June 8, 1986 at the age of 74.
Herman was a farmer and a thresherman in the popular Rumely
OilPull days. He became a member of the Pioneer Harvester shortly
after the formation of the Pioneer Harvest Fiesta in 1956 at Fort
Scott, KS.
Herman arranged several threshing bees at his farm near Lamar,
two of which were powered by steam engines from Ft. Scott, others
by International tractors, which stimulated much interest in other
area shows attended regularly by Herman. He was always ready and
willing to give a helping hand and will be greatly missed.
