84, of Prairie City, Iowa, died of a heart ailment Aug. 10,
2001.

The son of Earl and Mary Susan ‘Mamie’ Buckingham
Brubaker, he was born Aug. 30, 1916, in Prairie City. He married
Norma Vroom on April 29, 1938. Leo was part owner of the E.M.
Brubaker & Sons implement business in Prairie City. Following
his retirement, he refurbished antique machinery and tractors,
especially Rumelys. He was a lifetime resident of Prairie City and
a member of the Prairie City Church of the Brethren, where he was a
deacon. He was a member of the Prairie City Volunteer Fire
Department and served on the city council. He was also a charter
member of the Central Iowa Hawkeye Gas Engine & Tractor
Club.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Noralee and Robert Warrick of Prairie City and Marlene and Richard
Smith of Bonaparte, Iowa; six grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; a sister, Opal Goodrich of Prairie City; four
brothers, Carl of Medford, Ore., Merlin of Bettendorf, Iowa, Doyle
of Newton, Iowa, and Marvin, of Des Moines, Iowa; and a
sister-in-law, Bernice Brubaker of Prairie City. He was preceded in
death by his parents, three brothers, a sister, a granddaughter and
