Harvey Hilands, member of EDGE&TA Branch
15, Brooks, Oregon, passed away on Sept. 1, 2001, of a heart
attack.

Harvey was inducted into the EDGE&TA Hall of Fame this year.
Harvey was what you would call a ‘Jack of all trades.’
There wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for you or help
you with. He was a charter member of Branch 15 and a member since
1971. He held many positions as an officer: 1971-1973, vice
president of EDGE&TA Branch 15 when the club was formed;
1973-1978, editor of EDGE&TA Branch 15 newsletter, The
Backfire
; 1976-1986, secretary/treasurer.

Harvey was not a person who looked for a thank you. He was one
of our best supporters and you could always find him working to
better the club. Some of the equipment that Harvey purchased for
our use included: two forklifts, a road grader, a ditch witch, a
backhoe, and three golf carts for zipping around the grounds at
Antique Power-land. The most recent donation for the club and
Antique Power-land was paying for a beautiful 150×40 foot building
for big engines. His generosity will allow us to display and run
these engines all year long.

We would not have accomplished so much if it had not been for
Harvey’s outstanding donations and his involvement with Branch
15, the National, and Antique Power-land. Harvey was loved and will
be greatly missed.
