HARVEY L. THAYLER, 82 of Mt. Pleasant, Ontario, Canada died
August 14, 1977 at the Brantford General Hospital. He threshed for
many years in the Princeton, Richwood and Wolverton area, first
with steam, then with a 30-50 Type Y Oilpull, then with a McCormick
Deering WD 40 until the mid forties when the combines and small
separators took over. He attended many threshing shows in the
district and was a most interesting man.

TOM LOBB, 79, of Helston, Manitoba, Canada died Monday, August
15, 1977 at his farm home after a brief illness for three months.
For a short while he was a great buyer in Alberta and Manitoba,
then took up farming for his life occupation. It was just recently
he rented his land. Tom was devoted to his home, family and
community having played hockey, and baseball. He was a strong
supporter of the Manitoba Agricultural Museum at Austin. He was a
director for 23 years up to his death. He was the Parade Marshall
for years. I remember him well at the 1976 show. Ken Fordham from
Ochre River drove his homemade garden tractor and Tom was on a
potato scuffler which meant the parade was over. He had a great
sense of humor. Always striving for new and different ideas. He was
an Iron-Man with steam threshing outfits. He has owned and operated
them. Tom will be greatly missed at our show.
