I’m writing to tell you that I’m really enjoying the series of
articles by Richard Dickey. I’m a few months behind, so I just
finished reading Part III. What luck! I am in exactly the same
position he is – a beginning machinist with the urge to build a
model. Seeing Dickey’s accomplishments encourages me to try it,
too. However, I’m going to practice a little more before I tear
into a fairly expensive casting kit.
I’m a new subscriber, but I’ve bought and read as many back
issues as possible, back to the 1980s. I regularly attend the Blue
Mountain shows in Bangor, Pa., and thoroughly enjoy them with my
15-year-old daughter. She’s a renaissance sort, with a wide variety
of interests, and the skills and talent to do well at them. Keep up
the good work.
