Althea J. Ball passed away May 8, 2005. She was
a member of United Church of Bernardston, Mass., which sponsored
engine shows. She was the editor for the flyers and newsletters for
many years. Her husband looked after show parking, donations and
other items. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Robert D. Smith Jr., 79, of Schnecksville, Pa.,
died on Feb. 9, 2005, in his home. He was the husband of the late
Marian S. Smith. They were married for 52 years. He was a truck
driver for the Schwermann Trucking Co. for 30 years and a member of
Teamsters Union Local 773. He had also worked for the Bethlehem
Steel Corp. for 12 years.

After retiring, he owned and operated Bob’s Repair Shop at his
home for 18 years. He was a member of the Lehigh Valley Antique Car
Club, having restored a 1928 Chevy, a 1926 Gardner and a 1938
Desoto, two of which placed first as national winners. He was a
member of the Jacktown Gas Engine Club since 1975, a member of Hay
Creek Valley Historical Assn. and Kinzers clubs, all located in
Pennsylvania.

He loved displaying his working steam engines, various
hit-and-miss engines and making corn meal. He always looked forward
to attending the engine shows and enjoyed swapping stories with his
buddies and making new friends. His family and friends will sadly
miss him. So long, Pop.
