41/3/4A (below) and B (right): Base of the Leader Iron Works pump.

I recently acquired a Leader Iron Works pump unit at a farm
sale. The base of the engine is all that is left of the original
power source, as shown. There was an old electric motor bolted to
the top, driving the gear wheels. The words, “MFD By Leader Iron
Works. Decatur ILL. Owega NY. 4525,” appear on the cast iron base
at the pump end. Any help identifying this engine would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you. Daniel Ebersol, 1931-A Mine Road, Paradise,
PA 17562; (610) 593-1173.
