Twenty years ago, he used to restore Harley motorcycles, but now
Terry Grice enjoys steam engines. At the annual Franklin County
Fair on Grandpa’s Farm west of Hampton, Iowa, Grice hauls the
engines around the grounds.

In addition to his steam engines, Grice has three threshers
dating back to the early 1900s, and an original Case water
wagon.

Grice farms with tractors even though he prefers the steam
engine. Above, he is pictured with his 1952 A 50 Mack semi that he
restored to haul his steam engines.

The Franklin County Fair will be held July 16-20 this year. It
is a joint project of the Fair Board and the Franklin County
Historical Society. For information call the fair office at
515-456-2049.
