The 8th annual antique machinery Swap Meet and Flea Market
sponsored by the LeSueur County Pioneer Power Association was held
April 28th at the fairgrounds in LeCenter, Minnesota. A record 220
vendors showed up to trade or sell their wares and the weather
cooperated perfectly. Our swap meet has always been held on the
last Sunday in April, and speaking of the weather, it has ranged
from 85 degrees in the shade to an all-out snow storm on our 1984
meet and by the time that Sunday night was over 8-10 inches of wet
snow had fallen and miles of power lines had also fallen with
electricity not being restored in some areas for up to five days.
Many people will remember that trip home from LeCenter for years to
come.
Vendors from 7 states and Canada, made up our 1975 meet. People
usually start arriving Saturday evening and early Sunday morning to
get an early start for the one day of brisk selling and buying. A
few prices for items sold are as follows: 1936 CC Case on steel and
running $450.00; Associated high mag brass bottom $165.00; MM J
steel fronts $300.00; JD 1 cart only $250.00; JD W power unit
