1949 VAC Case

R.R. #2 Webster City, Iowa 50595

‘I’m fifteen years old and I have recently restored a
1949 VAC Case which was my first restoration project. It was
purchased two years ago from a junk man for $25.00.

I restored the tractor from the ground up. The engine was stuck,
but once we got it home and off the trailer we did some mechanical
work to the distributor cap, pull started it and it started right
up!

The mechanical work was fairly simple. New valves were put in.
The seized-up transmission was taken apart, cleaned, and put back
together.

All the rust-pitted and grease-infested sheet metal was taken
off, cleaned, primered, wet-sanded and painted a nice shiny coat of
Flambeau Red. The whole restoration took me 260? hours and one
year’s worth of time.

The tractor has been taken to tractor shows around the state of
Iowa and to the county and state fairs for FFA.
