On January 3, 1993, a friend of a friend who is now my friend,
called to ask if we (my wife and I are partners) would be
interested in an old John Deere engine. That is like the old saying
‘does a wild bear live in the wilderness’! Sure maybe, tell
me more!
‘It came from a combine, and seems to be identical to the
engine on an L tractor. I bought it to use as a project, but it has
become obvious that the project won’t be pursued by me,’ he
says.
I went on a cold winter day, heard the engine run, made a deal,
and went the next day and brought it home. This will fit well with
the John Deere tractors and old equipment already on hand!
