Piece by piece I took it all apart, Boy ain’t I smart!

Piece by piece I worked and cleaned, looking for the color red,
blue, or maybe green.

It was the dirtiest engine I ever seen! Ground the valves, put
in rings and a dozen other things.

Drew pictures and wrote a lot When I was ready to put it
together again, I just had to grin Because I had forgot!

But with tender loving care I tried pieces here and there, till
I got on track and got it all back!

I cranked it over once or twice, that was so nice. It went
‘putt putt’ and began to run.

Now wasn’t that fun!

But I just knew it was time to get another one!
