This is a photo of a 5 HP C.H.E. engine. It was manufactured in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, July 11, 1920. This engine is a little
different than most four cylinder engines. For some reason, the
manufacturer made this engine to run in the opposite direction, so
it runs backwards.

It was free and complete when I got it. Restoration consisted of
one winter season. The engine was originally set up to run on
gasoline.

With a couple of changes, I now run it on propane. It’s a
very nice running engine.
