I wanted to share this adorable picture of my daughter, Delilah Mae Walter. She is 1 year old and loves her engines! Her grandfather “Poppy” has been a gas engine fanatic for more than 45 years and has had a Gas Engine Magazine subscription for at least 35 years! She is the next generation of engine collectors!
The engine is a 1-1/2hp Monarch made for the Royal Engine company, serial No. 9476. Her grandfather, Richard Walter, has been collecting engines since the mid-1980s. He has a large collection of engines and antique tractors. We love going to gas engine shows up and down the east coast.

The future of gas engines is looking pretty darn cute! I absolutely love seeing photographs of gas engine family ties and how our readers are passing on their knowledge. Bonus points for the denim bibs and oil rag in her back pocket. Get Miss Delilah to wrenching early and tell her she is a cover girl!
Thank you, Emily, for sharing. I invite all our readers to send in pictures of their youngsters taking part in the hobby. — Editor
