The pictures are of my scale model B.O. John Deere. It
wasn’t until I saw the August 1990 issue of Gas Engine Magazine
that I realized I had used a Tiger garden tractor chassis to build
my John Deere. I found it under a lean-to on a barn beside the
highway in Nahunta, Georgia.
I used everything the Tiger had except the air cooled engine;
moved the three speed transmission, steering wheel and seat back to
make room for the LB 1?-2? HP International engine. Then it was
just a matter of making the radiator, hood and fenders scaled down
and proportioned to the original B.O. John Deere I have.
The hand clutch tightens the idler pulley, and pull the clutch
all the way back for the brakes just like the original. This little
B.O. is for my wife, Susie. She earned it for having patience with
me over the long weekends I was building it.
