Paul Douglas writes in about an article in the August/September 1989 GEM concerning the Kohler-powered light beacons employed at airfields across the country during and after World War II. Paul sent us an article about the restoration of such a tower located at the Brodhead Airport in Brodhead, Wisconsin. The tower includes the generator building, built to original plans. “I am writing on behalf of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 431, located at the Brodhead Airport. To the best of my knowledge, we may be looking for the beacon and/or light and a generator set.” If anyone can help Paul locate the appropriate Kohler generator, please contact him at the address below.
