Early 20th Century Bulldog Engine

Here are some pictures of my 1913 (?) 5 HP Bulldog. Wondering if GEM readers can shed some light. As you can see, the engine is a shade of red with black “trim.” I was under the impression that Bulldogs were painted a shade of maroon. I have seen other engines of varying horsepower with the same red/black color scheme on YouTube and a Bulldog website from Canada. Was this an option, or a scheme that was produced for an aftermarket vendor? Thanks for any help you can give me.
