This engine is on the side of Copper Mountain, about a hundred
miles north of Elko, Nevada. It takes a 4 x 4 to climb to the
mine site and can you imagine the mule power it must have taken to
get this engine and boiler to this spot. Also, the fuel to fire the
boiler, as there are not many trees close by.
The vultures have really picked the engine over, and 40-50
degree below winters have broken all the steam chests.
Engine size is 11′ bore by 16′ stroke, 66′ diameter
pulley and 11′ wide.
