Long time contributor and engine enthusiast Dick Hamp sent us
this picture from an old brochure of an Aermotor 2-1/5 to 5 HP
engine featuring the company’s patented fluted cooler. Aermotor
first built these engine starting in 1911. Of hit-and-miss design,
the 2-1/2 HP engines shipped at 600 pounds while the 5 HP engines
shipped at 1,000 pounds. Dick Hamp has three of the 5 HP models in
his collection.
