Major Bragg of Atwood, Illinois, hands a bronze tractor trophy
to 4-year old Darrin Swinford, grandson of Lloyd and Barbara Dean
of Atwood.
‘These two dudes have a lot in common, despite their 94 year
age difference. One has a world of knowledge and the other a world
of interest they both love tractors.’
When Major Bragg turned 98 last February, the Deans and their
grandson surprised him by taking a birthday cake to him at
Friendship Hill, where he lives.
In this photo, Major is passing on a bronze tractor trophy to
Darrin.
‘We and all who know him feel so fortunate to still have him
with us and for his mind to still operate in high gear,’ Lloyd
writes. ‘He did not help farm this past season due to some
heart problems, but he was farming in his mind.’
