An auction was conducted in the summer of 1998 for Mr. and Mrs.
Roger Sneden, liquidating their private collection of pedal cars
and related items. The sale brought interest from across the United
States. The majority of the cars had been professionally restored.
The sale, conducted in Charlotte, Michigan, at the Eaton County
Fairgrounds, was handled by Stanton’s Auctioneers of
Vermontville, Michigan. The car shown at right, a 1926 Steelcraft,
sold for $3,500. Others sold included a Sears pedal tractor, $175;
a 1921 American National, $5,100; and a 1924 Steelcraft for
$4,750.
