On Nov. 3, 2009, the gas engine community lost one of its biggest figures – Glenn Karch (In Memorium).

Glenn was recognized world-wide as an authority on the Hercules Gas Engine Co., self-publishing A History of the Celebrated Line of Hercules Engines in 1989 and penning the regular column “Hercules Engine News” in Gas Engine Magazine from June 1992 to March 2006.

The tremendous body of work that Glenn contributed to GEM and to the gas engine hobby is too much to list here. However, we hope you’ll take the time to peruse the links we’ve provided below as a guide to some of Glenn’s contributions.

• Hercules Engine News: A list of links to all of Glenn’s columns as they appeared in Gas Engine Magazine.

• Kewaunee Engines: An excerpt from Glenn’s book The Kewaunee Engine Story as it appeared in the August/September 2007 issue of GEM.

• 100 Years of Economy: Glenn’s final article for GEM, printed in May 2009.

• A History of the Celebrated Line of Hercules Engines: The reprint of Glenn’s book for sale in our Web store.
