organization of antique farm tractor and machinery collectors, have
recently announced that they will host the World’s Expo of
Antique Farm Equipment at the Air Expo Grounds in Ankeny, Iowa,
from July 1-3, 1999.
The Expo is planned to be the largest antique farm tractor and
farm equipment show in the United States. Over 2,000 antique
tractors and implements are expected during the three-day
exposition.
Other scheduled events will include an antique tractor pull,
antique tractor auction, daily field demonstrations, daily tractor
parades, pioneer farm crafts, model tractor displays, restoration
clinics, a farm toy show, and children’s events.
Hundreds of vendors will offer a wide range of merchandise to
the Expo crowd, from antique tractor parts to toys and merchandise
as well as a wide variety of crafts.
All these events will be seasoned with country music
entertainment and a variety of farm-style foods.
Sponsors of the Expo to date are John Deere, NationsBank, and
WHO Radio.
Proceeds from the Expo will be used to assist a Foundation in
the promotion of the preservation and restoration of farm tractors
and equipment.
