The seventh annual show June 6 & 7, 1992, at Kempton,
Pennsylvania, had more spectators, more flea market vendors, more
activities, which included an informal, come-as-you-are-meal served
by the Community Center kitchen people, and also the promised
professional pull sled for tractors.
Rain Friday and Saturday undoubtedly kept some exhibitors away,
but not the spectators, after the sunshine arrived about 11 A.M. on
Saturday. The shingle mill, broom and basket makers were new
additions for our show, and many new people joined the club during
the show. The kiddie tractor pull on Sunday afternoon always draws
people and contestants. The farm tractor pull, the teeter-totter,
barrel roll, blindfolded driving contest, slow tractor race and
slowest stationary engine contest were some of the variety of
activities. These activities require people to plan and conduct
them, a gate committee, sales people for our club advertising and
souvenir items, plus the registration and hospitality people, and
we give them all a big ‘Thank You’. A special thanks to the
people who donated items for the very successful bake sale.
The 1993 show will be three days instead of the two day event
we’ve had for the past seven years. Featured in advertising
will be the Associated line of engines, which will be on the caps
and plaques. Also, if present plans materialize, there will be
tractor pulls run by an organization of tractor pullers. Watch for
more info in our ads.
