The West Coast Mennonite Relief Sale is an annual festival to
raise funds to meet human need. People from central California and
the west enjoy the festive country fair atmosphere.
The big auction ring features antiques and colorful handmade
quilts. Artisans provide pottery, needlework, woodwork, paintings,
and other craft items for the shops. Church groups set up food
booths selling pancakes, hamburgers, and special ethnic foods as
well as homemade breads and pastries. All profits go toward world
relief.
This all takes place at Fresno Pacific University, and members
of Branch 8 EDGE & TA having been participating for 20 years.
Millions of dollars have been raised for world relief here. This
past event put forth $225,000 for people in need.
If you are ever in the area stop by. The next show is April 6
and 7, 2001. Where else can you get homemade ice cream from a 3 HP
Jaeger engine?
Bring a tractor or engine or two, join the fun! For donations,
call West Coast MCC Office at 559-453-0522.
