Illiana Antique Power Assn. Boswell, Indiana 47921

The Benton County Fairgrounds at Boswell, Indiana was the
setting for the 7th annual show of the Illiana Antique Power
Association, held on August 19, 20, and 21, 1988.

The weather, exhibits and crowds were outstanding. Highlights of
the three days included the awarding of the 1951 JD ‘B’
raffle tractor to Don Schlarb from North Carolina; running of the
club’s vertical 3-piece shingle mill restored by Jerry and
Wilfred Kirsch; display of Allis-Chalmers equipment featuring
tractors from the collection of Marion and Joe Klutzke and a large
AC dealer sign exhibited by Joe Kult and Jerry Kirsch;
‘after-hours chats’ held under the string of lights
deriving their power from the 4 HP F-M electric lighting engine
owned by Kenny Wolf; largest turnout to date of restored antique
vehicles; threshing of wheat with the 60 HP Case traction engine of
Eddie Dalton and Gene Newtson with a crew headed by Slim Jasheway;
antique wrench collection of Clyde Johnson; and the fantastic
parade coordinated by John Reynolds.

Carter Dalton Awards for excellence were presented to Kenny Wolf
for his Gemmer gas engine, Keith Saylor for his 1918 Moline
Universal tractor, Bob Geswein for his Ford retractible car, and
Jim Coyle for his 1/3 scale traction engine.

Our second annual swap meet was held on October 15, 1988 with
out standing results. A consignment auction was held and many items
traded hands. Illinois swappers showed in large numbers. Next
year’s swap meet will be held at the same time as the show.

The 8th annual show will be held at the Benton County
Fairgrounds on June 30, July 1 and 2. This new time will allow
visitors and exhibitors to attend a show and swap meet at a time
that’s usually not possible in our area of the midwest.

We will feature International gas engines, tractors and related
items and will raffle a single wheel F-12 on steel.

Our hospitality is unmatched and your attendance and support are
genuinely appreciated.
