The 16th Annual Blanchard Millpond Steam and Gas Show in
Blanchard, Mich., was another great event. The weather for the
show, held August 22-24, was perfect and attendance by both
exhibitors and spectators was excellent.

IHC was the featured tractor, and Roy Shankel, Breckenridge,
Mich., had a nice display of IHCs, as did Dick Alberts, president
of Chapter 11 Michigan International Collector’s.

The featured gas engine was IHC, and including IHC engines we
had a total of 220 engines on hand for the show. We always have a
varied number of other exhibits, such as garden tractors (72),
model engines (33), and hot air engines, boat motors, etc. Another
nice feature of the show is the steamboat that Gene David,
Portland, Mich., gives rides on around the millpond.

There are a lot of activities during the steam and gas show,
including a flea market, tractor pulls, steam traction engines
sawing logs and running the threshing machine, garden tractor
pulls, and of course lots of food. There is no chance of going
hungry at the upcoming Blanchard Steam and Gas Show, Aug. 22-24,
2003. The featured tractor and gas engine will be John Deere.
Special thanks to everyone who helped on the 2002 show – without
you the show wouldn’t go on.
