On January 30, 31, and February 1, 1998, we had a great show at
Quartzsite, Arizona. There were a lot of tractors, large engines
and small: 60 HP to one flea-power. Also, a great electric train
exhibit 60 feet long and much more. The small engine exhibitors had
their own building. Some of the models were run by steam, some by
air, and some propane.
Every year it gets better. More and more people are finding the
models they build are more fun than 300 pound engines that they
can’t lift. Howard Armstrong found a metal building for the
model displays. After some repair and adding a full-length bench,
it was ready for the show.
The top picture is most of the small engine gang. Left to right
