Sec.-Treas. Buckeye Farm Antiques, Inc. RR#3, Box l73
Wapakoneta, Ohio 45895.
The first annual Buckeye Farm Antiques, Inc. Show, which was
held on May 26 & 27, was quite a success. Although we had rain
all day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday turned out to be nice days.
We had 106 tractors, 80 gas engines, one large and one small steam
engine plus other farm related items on display.
The feature tractor was Elvin Eyler’s rare Harshman tractor
that was made in nearby Cridersville, Ohio. Also of note in the
tractor display was Wendell Stahler’s rare GMC Samson Sieve
Grip tractor.
Of note in the engine display was club president Doug
Etzkorn’s 5 HP New Holland gas engine. Also on display was a
Buckeye and a St. Mary’s gas engine.
Several displays and demonstrations were held on Saturday and
Sunday. We had corn shelling, grinding of feed, and sawing of logs
with Ed Broyles’ 4 and 5 HP Ottawa log saws, along with an
operating sawmill.
The two featured events on Saturday were an auction and a lumber
jack show with contests in accuracy in axe throwing and time in
sawing of logs.
The show’s main event was a tractor pull held on Sunday with
approximately 60 tractors participating. The winners were: Bill
Hursh, Peter Oen, Adrian Egbert, Jeff Craig, Ken Craig, Lisa Baker,
Gary Schmerge and Leonard Schmerge.
Plans for next year’s show which will be held on May 25
& 26, 1991, are now being set. The club would like to thank
everyone who attended and participated in this year’s show and
would like to welcome everybody to come to next year’s
show.
