On May 15, 16, 1982, the Club held its fifth annual show and
flea market. Although it rained almost every weekend in May, our
Club was lucky enough to have picked the only rain-free weekend of
the month!

After a long and cold winter, all the gas engine buffs are eager
to get to a show and get some of the bugs out of their engines or
show their newest engine off for the first time. Because we are one
of the first shows of the year, in the area, we are getting a
bigger and better turnout each year and this year was no exception.
We had 103 exhibitors with over 200 gas engines, tractors, and cars
from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and New Jersey.
Some of the engines included a 12 HP York; 3 HP Geiser; 3 HP Olds;
4 HP-6 HP-8 H: tank cooled Internationals and many more!

No one went hungry during the two-day show because we had plenty
of food and baked goods made by the ladies of the Club (can’t
forget them!) and dinners were served by the Kingsdale Fire
Company.

We want to thank everyone who helped make our show a success,
especially the exhibitors because they make the show. Our sixth is
in the planning for May 1983 and everyone is invited to attend. We
are always delighted to see new faces. Plaques and buttons are
given to all exhibitors; admission is free and flea market spaces
are available at a small fee. For information call Steve Harman,
2301 Black’s Schoolhouse Road, Taneytown, maryland 21787.
