To have a forty acre playground filled with toys-‘adult
toys’-was the scene of the 8th annual California Antique Farm
Equipment Show held Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16, in
Tulare, California. The show featured ‘Three Centuries of John
Deere.’
Most of us had our bibs on and our sunscreen, because when you
sit in the sun for two hours watching the tractor parade you need
it. Then after lunch the auction started, which required more
sunscreen and lasted for 3 ? hours.
Then it was time to change from our bibs to our tight-fitting
jeans for the evening barbecue which was very delicious and
spectacular, for they fed 2,000 people in 29 minutes. Now, that is
being organized.
When Sunday rolls around, people are more relaxed. Breakfast is
available, followed by a church service and a sing-time. Then out
to another tractor parade. After lunch there is a tractor pull.
What a beautiful weekend to enjoy and to learn and help others
learn. Here you see smiles, sincerity, and activity- all to make
our show a success.
