The 33rd annual EDGE&TA National Business Meeting was held
on July 12th, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Nevada County
Fair grounds in Grass Valley, California and hosted by Branch
13.
At precisely 7:00 p.m. Jerry Virtue, president of Branch 13,
welcomed all EDGE&TA members as guests of his branch, and
expressed his club’s appreciation for those attending the show.
He then asked one of the branch members to play the National An
them on his trumpet while all the audience stood at attention.
President Jerry Virtue was now able to turn the meeting over to the
National President, Jack Versteeg, who also welcomed all members in
preparation for the business matters at hand, and asked National
Vice President Charlie Stark to offer a prayer in preparation for
the meeting.
The 1993 National was dedicated to the late Lou Chapo, who was a
past National president, president, charter member and founder of
Branch 13.

Thirty-one branches were represented, with 538 members
present!
In reviewing the records we find that this meeting had the
largest member representation in the history of EDGE&TA.
Special mention was given that the former Branch 38 asked at the
time of admission that they be granted number 49 due to the
significance of their region (the Gold Rush days of 1848 or the
’49ers). Since the advancement of additional branches, this
number was granted them during this past fiscal year.
