View of piston and rod removed from engine. Half-moon piece on floor is mud ring which bolts around cylinder to form water jacket for cooling.

'I was reading in your magazine an article about an Empire tractor owned by Ernest L. Pease. I own one just like it. 1948 model 90, serial number 6541, engine number 1146614. My name is Clifford J. Pease and my tractor runs great. I use mine almost every day. 'Clifford Pease' tractor is pictured in two views below. He lives at 373 144 Street, Caledonia, Michigan 49316.

Above is a recently completed restoration by Dave P. Lambrecht, P.O. Box 33, Custer, Montana 59024. Lambrecht is a john Deere collector, who is about to take on a 1937 BW. 'I silk screen all the lettering for an original look and try to do a good job of paint for a showroom look.' Lambrecht has been restoring tractors since 1965, when he started with a 1930 model GP standard.
